The Cervical Spine
Injury to the cervical spine can involve a strain-sprain of the soft tissue structures.

Sign and symptoms to look for
Immediate pain after accident or may occur within 24 hours to weeks after trauma.
Pain maybe localized to the neck shoulders and scapular region or chest.
Pain may increase with flexion, extension, lateral flexion or rotation of the cervical spine.
Pain is often relieved by laying down and increased being upright.
